Duchess of Cambridge at Royal Photographic workshop in London

On June 25, the Duchess of Cambridge attended a workshop at the Royal Photographic Society workshop hosted by Action for Children at Warren Park in Kingston, London.

Action for Children is a charity that helps look after and support vulnerable young children and their families throughout the UK and has over 500 services across the country. In 1869, the first children’s home was opened after it was converted from a renovated stable in Church Street, Waterloo. Many other branches of the home were later founded, and the charity became an adoption agency in 1926. In 2008, the charity’s name was changed to Action for Children.

Kate has been patron of the charity after the Queen had been its patron for 67 years. Kate is a keen amateur photographer and has taken several of the official photographs of her children.

Children from across the UK were invited to the workshop, where they learnt photographic skills with Kate and other charity officials.

The Royal Photographic Society is one of the world's oldest photographic societies, founded in 1853 with the objective of promoting the art and science of photography.
