King Philippe and Princess Elisabeth Visit Fire Fighter Formation Center
Today, Friday April 26, His Majesty King Philippe along with his daughter, Princess Elisabeth, paid a visit to the fire station Heliport of the Brussels Fire Brigade and their training center called the “École du feu”.
Dressed with firefighter jackets, the King and the Princess attended three demonstrations that showed the the versatility and high degree of specialization of the firefighter-ambulance profession. The firefighters showed an extrication of victim stuck in a car accident, a new fire suppression techniques and then took place a demonstration of a special unit of the fire brigade.
Princess Elisabeth was also involved in the fire suppression exercise along with the firefighters.
Then the King and the Princess met with students and trainers of the “École du feu”. The “École du feu” was founded in 2004 by the Brussels Fire Brigade to provide to the firefighters “adequate and continuous training, which has resulted in a high level of commitment and cooperation between the fire brigade and this training center”.
