Princess Beatrix Launches the Theme Year “Rembrandt & the Golden Age 2019”
Yesterday, Wednesday January 30, Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrix was present at the opening of the theme year “Rembrandt & the Golden Age 2019” at the Mauritshuis Museum in The Hague.
To mark the 350th anniversary of the death of the Dutch painter Rembrandt van Rijn, the Rembrandt House, the Mauritshuis, the Frisian Museum, Museum De Lakenhal and the Rijksmuseum organized numerous exhibitions and activities throughout the country throughout the year.
At the Mauritshuis Princess Beatrix visited the exhibition “Rembrandt and the Mauritshuis” that shows eighteen paintings of the Rembrandt collection, including “The Anatomy Lesson of Dr Nicolaes Tulp” and Rembrandt’s late self-portrait.
Opened today, the exhibition will run until September 15.
