Duchess of Sussex at the National Theatre in London

On January 30, the Duchess of Sussex visited the National Theatre on the South Bank in London.

Meghan succeeded from Elizabeth II as patron of the National Theatre as was announced earlier this month. The Queen was patron of the organisation for forty five years.

The Duchess met staff at the National Theatre and also participated in a workshop with members of the Pericles production. She then met apprentices working as technicians and in other behind the scenes departments of the company.

Meghan has a double major in theatre from the Northwestern University and also volunteered at an after school performing arts programme for children before she met Prince Harry.

Actor Sir Laurence Olivier founded the National Theatre in 1963 and it was first housed in the Old Vic theatre and relocated to the South Bank, its current location, in 1976.
