Death of the Count of Paris
Prince Henri d’Orléans, Count of Paris and head of the French royal family has died today.
The sad news was announced on facebook by his eldest surviving son, Prince Jean, Duke of Vendôme:
J’ai la tristesse de vous annoncer le décès de mon père, Monseigneur le Comte de Paris, survenu ce matin. Je le confie à vos prières.

The late count was born in the Manoir d’Anjou near Brussels on June 14th 1933 as the eldest son of Prince Henri d’Orleans, Count of Paris and Princess Isabelle of Orleans-Bragança. On 5 July 1957, Henri married Duchess Marie Therese of Württemberg. Five children were born from this union. The couple divorced in 1984. In the same year Henri married Micaëla Anna María Cousiño y Quiñones de León in a civil ceremony. 1999 he succeeded his father as head of the French royal family.
The count is survived by his wife, four children and twelve grandchildren.
