State Visit from Singapore to the Netherlands – Last Day

On the second day of the Singaporean state visit, Queen Maxima accompanied the President of the Republic of Singapore, Mrs. Halimah Yacob, and her husband Mohamed Abdullah Alhabshee for a visit at the Greenhouse Horticulture & Flower Bulbs in Bleiswijk, in the province of South Holland.

The Greenhouse Horticulture & Flower Bulbs, one of the experimental greenhouses of Wageningen University & Research (WUR), is dedicated to innovating for and with the greenhouse horticulture sector. The visit was focused to sustainable agriculture, innovative horticulture, healthy food and food safety. During the visit it was signed a cooperation agreement between the Nanyang Technological University and WUR.

In the afternoon King Willem-Alexander accompanied the President and her husband for a technical education visit at the Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences. At the University they visited the RDM Campus where “companies, students and researchers work together on technical projects that contribute to smart developments in the port of Rotterdam”.

Afterwards, in Delft, they visited Deltares, “an independent applied knowledge institute in the field of water and subsoil”.

In the evening the Prime Minister Mark Rutte hosted a dinner in the Trêves Hall at the Binnenhof for the President and her husband. King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima were among the guests. The dinner qas focused on education, innovation, social inclusion, circular economy and water.
