Belgian King and Queen Attend the Belgian Remembrance Parade in London

Today, Saturday July 14, Their Majesties King Philippe and Queen Mathilde were in London to attend the Belgian Remembrance Parade, a traditional commemoration ceremony in memory of the Belgians killed during the two World Wars.
The ceremony took place at the Guards Memorial on Horse Guards Parade at the presence of Belgian and British veterans, members of the Belgian Government and their Armed Forces, senior representatives from the UK Armed Forces and Government and UK Cadets and Cadet Band.
Since 1934, the commemoration takes place on the Saturday before the Belgian national holiday on 21 July.
The Belgian Army is the only non-Commonwealth country which has been allowed to holding their national act of Remembrance in London, it is a privilege granted by King George V in memory of his Belgian cousin King Albert I.
Later in the afternoon King Philippe and Queen Mathilde were received at Windsor Castle by Queen Elizabeth II.
