Prince Louis christened at St. James’s Palace

On 9 July, Prince Louis of Cambridge was christened at the Chapel Royal in St. James’s Palace in London.

His godparents were announced earlier in the morning as Nicholas van Cutsem, Guy Pelly, Harry Aubrey-Fletcher, Hannah Carter and Lucy Middleton.

The Queen and her husband the Duke of Edinburgh were absent from the service which was conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby at 4pm. During the service, O Jesus I have Promised and Lord of All Hopefulness were sung and the choir performed This is the Day that the Lord Hath Made as well as a Welsh lullaby.

This was also the first royal christening for the Duchess of Sussex who was pictured alongside her husband Prince Harry.

Prince Louis was born on 23 April at the Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, London. His full name is Louis Arthur Charles.
