Royal Children Steal the Trooping the Colour Show!
On June 9, various members of the British royal family gathered on the Buckingham Palace balcony to watch the annual flypast celebrating the Queen’s birthday.
This year; the Duchess of Sussex was in attendance for the first time as she was seen accompanying her husband Prince Harry in the carriage and exchanged warm glances between the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cambridge on the balcony. The Queen was seen riding in the carriage alone as her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh, was absent from the event.
Those who also attended the event were the Duke of Cambridge and his children Prince George and Princess Charlotte, the Duchess of Cornwall, the Duke of York and his daughters Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie who could be seen riding in a carriage with the Countess of Wessex and her daughter Lady Louise Windsor; and Princess Anne and her family, apart from the Tindalls. The Duke of Kent and his family as well as the Duke of Gloucester and his family were also present.
During the procession; 79 year-old Field Marshal Lord Guthrie collapsed and fell off his horse, from which he was taken to hospital and is now reported to be recovering well. A Sikh member of the royal guards, Singh Lall, was also permitted to wear his turban during the ceremony; the first time a member of the royal guards has been allowed to wear a religious headpiece.
