Duchess of Cambridge Gives Birth To Second Son
Kensington Palace has announced the Duchess of Cambridge was “safely delivered of a son” at St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington at 11:01am local time this morning.
“The baby weighs 8lbs 7oz. The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well,” the statement continued, before confirming that all close family have been informed. The medical staff who assisted the birth were Guy Thorpe-Beaston, Alan Farthing, Dr Sunit Godambe and Professor Huw Thomas.
The newborn – fifth in line to the throne – is the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s third child, they are already parents to Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
