King Philippe and Queen Mathilde Continue in Toronto Their State Visit to Canada
On the third day of their state visit to Canada, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde moved on to Toronto, the capital city of the province of Ontario.
Upon their arrival, the Royal Couple was received by Elizabeth Dowdeswell, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario at the Lieutenant Governor’s Suite at Queen’s Park. Afterwards the King and the Queen went to the Ontario Legislative Building where they met with David Levac, Speaker of the Legislative Building and then were received by Kathleen Wynne, Premier of Ontario.

At lunchtime the Royal Couple attended a luncheon hosted by Reza Moridi, Minister of Research, Science and Innovation of Ontario at the headquarter of MaRS Discovery District, a non-profit corporation founded in 2000 that helps companies and entrepreneurs to commercialize their products.
In the afternoon the Royal Couple had a separate program. The King partecipated in a roundtable with Canadian and Belgian CEOs at the Power Corporation of Canada, an international management and holding company.

The Queen, in the meantime, paid a visit to the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), the “Canada’s most research-intensive hospital and the largest centre dedicated to improving children’s health in the country”. During the visit the Queen attended a roundtable discussion on mental health for children and teenagers.
In late afternoon the King and the Queen left Toronto for Montréal. Upon their arrival at the Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport, the Royal Couple was welcomed by Michel Doyon, Lieutenant Governor of Québec and a number of Canadian officials.
