Danish Fashion for the Greek State Visit – Day 1
The visit of the Greek President and First Lady to Denmark began yesterday. For the arrival at the airport, HM Queen Margrethe wore a summery pink suit, combined with a white top, matching hat and black shoes. The suit nipped in flatteringly at the waist, and HM also wore white gloves. A brooch on the jacket’s lapel completed the look.
HRH Crown Princess Mary recycled a lavender coloured jacket from a military event of mid-2008. It was teamed with a new dark dress (the skirt of which appears to be sequined in some photos) and purple hat, as well as grey-coloured gloves and similarly-toned Prada handbag.
For the gala in the evening both HM and the Crown Princess recycled their gowns from the wedding of Prince Joachim and Princess Marie, with Queen Margrethe in pink – the dress has sleeves to her elbows, is belted at the waist and features a single pleat down the front.
Crown Princess Mary this time accessorised her light blue gown (with a tiered skirt and fitted top) with her wedding tiara, aquamarine earrings and a pearl and aquamarine choker. The princess carried a light coloured sequined clutch purse.
