Dutch Working Visit to China – Last Day

Today, Thursday February 8, Dutch Queen Máxima completed the working visit to China on her own while King Willem-Alexander was on his way to PyeongChang, South Korea, where tomorrow he will attend the opening of the Winter Olympics as an honorary member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

The Queen started her last day in China with a roundatable at the Dutch Embassy focused on Green Finance. Topics discussed were the use of financial resources and investments to combat climate change and the cooperation between the Netherlands and China in the field of Green Finance in order to reduce CO2 and make a better use of natural resources.

Afterwards Queen Máxima met with members of the Dutch and Chinese business community at the Temple restaurant and meeting center in Beijing. The meeting was focused on the strength of the cooperation between Dutch and Chinese entrepreneurs in areas in which they can learn from each other and work together.

The last event of the working visit took place at the headquarters of the Dutch-Chinese architectural firm Next Architects. The Queen toured the venue and was informed about the projects of young Chinese architects on sustainable city planning and water management in urban areas.
