Felipe and Letizia Present Gold Medals of Merit For The Fine Arts
The King and Queen of Spain were in Malaga on Tuesday, where they presented the 2016 Gold Medals of Merit for The Fine Arts during a ceremony at the Centre Pompidou de Málaga.
The medals, awarded on the recommendation of the Minister of Education, Sports, and Culture, are designed to honour individuals and groups who have “excelled int he field of artistic creation” or “promoting the teaching, development and dissemination of the art or the conservation of national artistic heritage”.
Among the winners for 2016 were singer Gloria Estefan, fashion designer Lorezno Caprile Trucchi, Argentinian pianist María Martha Argerich, and the Dukes of Soria Foundation of Hispanic Science and Culture. The King’s aunt and uncle, Infanta Margarita and the Duke of Soria, were present.
Queen Letizia kept her look simple in a navy suit with a white polka dot blouse.
