King Willem-Alexander Opens Jubilee Edition of The Hague Model UN
On Monday, King Willem-Alexander officially opened the jubilee edition of The Hague International Model United Nations (THIMUN) at the World Forum.
Thousands of high school students from over one hundred countries have descended on The Hague for the five-day conference that is being held this week, simulating the work and gatherings of the United Nations. Through debate and diplomacy, the students have an aim of reaching an “agreement on world problems such as war, climate change and human rights”.
The King was presented with a special book published to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of THIMUN.
