Crown Prince Haakon Attends Armed Forces Leadership Training Course

In Sessvollmoen, north of Oslo, Crown Prince Haakon on Monday attended the Armed Forces’ leadership training course at the Armed Forces Personnel and Protective Centre. 

He was shown a number of field exercises participants go through over the two-week training period that assists the three branches of the Armed Forces – the Army, the Air Force and the Navy – select “the most qualified and most motivated” people for further leadership training, who will then move into the leadership positions within the Armed Forces.

Dressed in military fatigues, Haakon watched as participants took part in tasks like saving a fellow soldier from icy water, and carrying explosives through forest areas.
