Denmark’s Crown Princess Mary and her four children enjoyed a casual day out on Sunday as they took in the annual Hubertus Hunt at the Hermitage Palace in Dyrehaven.

The family watched the race from the Palace’s balcony; the children cheering as the horses came into view. The smiles on their faces though turned to horror at the end of the race, as one of the Hunt officials got caught up in the path of the galloping horses and had to be taken to hospital in an ambulance.

10-year-old Princess Isabella helped her mother present the winners with their trophies at the end of the day; before she joined her siblings on the field where they lavished attention on the horses.

The Hunt is an event that has been taken place on the first Sunday of November each year since 1900.
