‘World Without AIDS Award’ Awarded To Princess Mabel

The German AIDS Foundation has awarded this year’s ‘World Without AIDS Award’ to Princess Mabel of Orange-Nassau for her “tireless efforts” in “setting a strong example in the global fight against HIV and AIDS”.

Princess Mabel has long been involved in charity work that involves the fight against AIDS, including her work with The Elders and Girls Not Brides.

She will receive her award on November 4th, during the 24th Festival Opera Gala held at the Deutsche Oper Berlin in aid of the German AIDS Foundation. The Managing Director of UNAIDS, Michel Sidibé, will also receive the award.
