Flashback Friday: Queen Noor In South Africa
November 3, 1995: Attending the 1995 annual congress of the United World Colleges, held in Johannesburg, Queen Noor of Jordan is seen speaking with South Africa’s President, Nelson Mandela.
The Queen has been President of the United World Colleges – “a global education movement that makes education a force to unite people, nations and cultures for peace and a sustainable future” – since 1995, a position President Mandela also held from 1995 until his 2013 death.
