Queen Letizia Speaks at World Cancer Research Day Event
As Honorary President of the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC), Queen Letizia on Friday attended the organisation’s event held to mark World Cancer Research Day at the Museo Nacional del Prado in Madrid.
The Queen delivered a speech ahead of presenting the AECC Cancer Research Grants 2017 to Dr Juan Carlos Izpisúa and Dr Josep Taberno for their work into cancer research.
She praised the “unity, collaboration and integration” of oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, nurses, and all medical personnel who assist in both cancer treatment and cancer research, as the “fight against cancer is a multidisciplinary process”.
Her Majesty – wearing a floral chiffon dress from Zara with pink accessories – also attended a roundtable discussion and several meetings with representatives of the AECC and their collaborating companies.
