Spain’s King Felipe and Queen Letizia paid a visit Saturday to those injured in the Barcelona terror attack that occurred on Thursday.

The couple visited two hospitals – Hospital del Mar and Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau – where they spoke with doctors and medical staff who have been treating the injured over the past three days, before visiting the patient wards to meet victims.

“This vile, cowardly attack; this murder that has killed and injured so many people and has shocked us all, cannot and will not be able stop us. Nor with our values, nor with our co-existence, nor with our democracy or our appreciation for human rights,” King Felipe said to the media after the visits.

Afterwards, King Felipe and Queen Letizia made their way to Las Ramblas, the scene of the deadly attack, where they laid flowers and lit candles in a memorial that has sprung up at the Joan Miró mosaic.
