Duke of Cambridge Leaves the East Anglian Air Ambulance
On July 27, Prince William had his final shift as an Air Ambulance pilot in East Anglia, writing that he had a “profound respect” for air ambulance pilots and those in the air ambulance team.
William is leaving his air ambulance job in order to take up more engagements on behalf of his grandparents, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip.
He worked with his team in Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Suffolk, providing night-time emergency medical care. William also said “as part of the team, I have been invited into people’s homes to share moments of extreme emotion, from relief that we have given someone a fighting chance, to profound grief”, before adding “I am hugely grateful for having had this experience.”
William has donated the salary he earned whilst he was a pilot to the East Anglia Air Ambulance charity.
