First Day In Berlin For The Cambridges As Tour Continues
On the third day of their tour; the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their children departed from Poland for Berlin in Germany.
William and Kate then visited the Holocaust Memorial, where they met an Auchwitz survivor, Leon Schawrzbuam; who explained to the couple that it took him a decade before he could tell others about his experience in the camps. He told the Cambridges “you could smell the chimney throughout the whole camp. It was a terrible smell”.
They then were greeted by a crowd of school children before visiting the Brandenburg gate and then having a private lunch with German chancellor Angela Merkel.
In the evening they attended a garden party at the Bellevue Palace; Kate wearing a red Alexander McQueen dress for the event. During the day she wore a blue Catherine Walker outfit.
