Prince Harry Discusses HIV During Roundtable At LSHTM
On Monday, Prince Harry attended a roundtable discussion at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine on the topic of HIV led by the Let Youth Lead initiative of Sentebale.
“To me it is totally absurd that in today’s world that young people, the first time they know or the first time they hear anything about HIV and Aids, is probably by the time it is too late,” he said during the discussion, after introducing the three young people from Lesotho and Botswana who were leading the discussion. He reiterated that “HIV needs to be treated exactly the same as any other disease” if there was any hope of “eradicating the stigma”.
Prior to the roundtable, the Prince met with staff from the LSHTM to learn about their research into public and global health, and see what projects they have been involved in recently.
