Royal Purple For Queen Elizabeth On The Final Day of Ascot
Royal Ascot came to its conclusion for 2017 on Saturday, and its most famous race-goer opted for a colour that would make her easy to spot in the Royal Enclosure – purple, the colour of royalty.
Queen Elizabeth, whose purple overcoat was matched with a hat in the same hue adorned with silk flowers, was accompanied by the Duke of York. Unfortunately for Her Majesty, her runner in the Hardwicke Stakes – Dartmouth – failed to give her a winner on the final day.
Princess Beatrice of York was also present, in a white frock with black cap-sleeves and red detailing at the waist.
