Queen Margrethe Hosts Lunch For Visiting Japanese Crown Prince
On Sunday, Queen Margrethe II of Denmark hosted a private luncheon at Fredensborg Palace for a special guest: the visiting Crown Prince Naruhito of Japan.
The heir to the Japanese throne – who is set to become Emperor within the next three years after a law was passed to allow his father to abdicate – was greeted on the Palace steps by the Queen, as well as Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary.
Crown Prince Naruhito’s week-long visit to Denmark is to mark 150 years of bilateral relations between the two countries. His visit concludes on June 20.
