Kate Pays Surprise Visit to London Attack Victims and Hospital Staff
The Duchess of Cambridge has paid an unannounced visit to King’s College Hospital in London to meet with medical staff who treated victims of the London Bridge and Borough Market terror attack two Saturdays ago.
Greeted by the hospital’s Chief Executive Nick Moberly and Medical Director Professor Julia Wendon, Catherine was given a quick tour of the emergency department where she was introduced to staff, including the team leaders who head up responses to major incidents.
She also privately met with some of the victims of the attack who are still in hospital receiving care, before having a meeting with specialist staff to discuss the psychological effects of these types of attacks, as well as the support the hospital offers to its staff and patients.
Eight people – one Briton, three Frenchmen, two Australians, one Canadian and one Spaniard – were killed in the attack.
