A Busy Day for Magenta Máxima
This morning, Tuesday June 13, Her Majesty Queen Máxima was in the town of Nieuw-Buinen, in the province of Drenthe, to launch the 12th edition of “Neighbour’s Day” that this year will take place on September 23 throughout the Netherlands.
“Neighbour’s Day” is a project supported by The Oranje Fonds that promotes the socialization between neighbours with many different activities like joint breakfast, sports, games or taking care of neighborhood together. In the presence of the Queen, registration for the project was started.
During her visit, the Queen was informed about the various activities that will be performed on “Neighbour’s Day” and she also met with the members of the association Dorpsbelangen New Buinen that for years has organized activities for the event.
King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima are patrons of the Oranje Fonds.
Afterwards the Queen was in the municipality of Oldambt where she attended a symposium of the Dutch Rose Society to mark the 50th anniversary of the Rosarium.
Queen Máxima toured the Rose Pavillion of the Rosarium where there are twenty thousand roses in 320 different varieties. To mark the celebration the Queen baptized a rose.
