Abdullah and Rania Celebrate 24 Years of Marriage
Saturday June 10th marks the twenty-fourth wedding anniversary of King Abdullah II and Queen Rania of Jordan. The couple were married in a lavish ceremony held at Zahran Palace in 1993.
On February 7, 1999 King Abdullah II ascended the throne following the death of his father, the late King Hussein. He named his wife Rania as Queen in a Royal Decree issued in March the same year.
The couple have four children: Crown Prince Hussein, Princess Iman, Princess Salma and Prince Hashem.
Queen Rania posted a special photo with her husband marking the happy occasion, commenting: ”After 24 years, I still feel like the luckiest woman in the world! Happy anniversary”.
