Queen of Bhutan Opens Bhutan-Thailand Festival

Bhutan’s Queen Jetsun Pema has attended the opening day of the first Bhutan-Thailand Festival at the Youth Development Fund Multipurpose Hall in Thimphu on Friday.

The Queen was given a tour of the festival, which is being held to celebrate the friendships and “shared common spiritual heritage” between Bhutan and Thailand. Several of the festival’s exhibitions have been designed to focus on areas of cooperation between the two countries.

Among the exhibitions Queen Jetsun Pema viewed was one dedicated to the memory of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej.

The festival will run until Sunday.
