Denmark’s Crown Princess Visits Paris For OECD Forum

Crown Princess Mary of Denmark spoke at the OECD Forum in Paris on Tuesday, an annual forum hosted by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development. 

“We need to find the opportunities in the challenges, take a longer view, and use more of the resources available to us. Our answer to these challenges cannot simply be more of the same. We are at the beginning of a new era of development – and a window of opportunity exists to rethink traditional approaches to persistent global challenges,” Mary began, going on to discuss a number of issues – such as sustainability, the refugee crisis, gender equality, and climate change – which require addressing to ensure the goals set out by the OECF are achieved.

Mary – wearing a blue-grey dress and a pale pink tie-waist coat  – also attended the ‘Pink Collar, Blue Collar’ debate focusing gender equality, before touring the Danish stands of the forum.

In the mid-afternoon, the Crown Princess stopped in at Élysée Palace for an audience with the French First Lady, Brigitte Macron. She also visited Maison du Danemark, an organisation designed to promote Danish culture in France. The Princess was given a tour of the Maison by the Danish Ambassador to France, Kirsten Biering, before a lunch with Danish designers.
