Haakon and Mette-Marit Open Blue Cross Children’s Station
On Monday, the Crown Prince and Princess of Norway were in the Sagene district of Oslo where they presided over the official opening of the Blue Cross’s first Children’s Station in the capital.
Haakon and Mette-Marit were given a tour of the centre, which is open as a meeting place for children and families who are suffering because of “vulnerable life situations” like mental health issues, drug addiction, or poverty.
It is the sixth such centre opened in Norway by the Blue Cross.
The Crown Princely Couple also spent time speaking with parents who have used the centres in the past, to help their families: one man said that he would not have any contact with his son, “and probably would not be alive” had a Children’s Station not provided them assistance.
