Joachim and Marie Open Sternfahrt 2017 Trade Fair

At Sønderborg Castle in South Jutland on Thursday, Prince Joachim and Princess Marie of Denmark officially opened Feuerwehr-Sternfahrt 2017, an “international trade fair for volunteer fire and rescue people”. 

The Prince and Princess were given a tour of the trade fair following the opening ceremony, with Prince Joachim’s eye caught by the historic fire trucks on display. “It was probably the old drivers of the trucks themselves who have stood and piled, screwed and polished…that I think is just the spirit,” he said of their inclusion in the fair.

Held every second year in different places around Europe, Feuerwehr-Sternfahrt is currently in its 22nd edition. Over 3,000 volunteer fire and rescue people will attend the four day event where they will participate in professional exhibitions, demonstrations and presentations.
