Closing of the Octave Marked in Luxembourg
The Grand Ducal Family of Luxembourg helped to mark the closing of the Octave of Our Lady of Luxembourg, a major religious celebration in the small Grand Duchy that takes place each year on the 5th Sunday following Easter.
Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa were present at a morning mass, before they were joined by Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume, Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie, Prince Félix and Princess Claire for the procession through the streets of Luxembourg City to the Grand Ducal Palace. Following a blessing outside the Palace, the family then processed back to the Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Luxembourg for the main mass.
Later in the day, the family appeared on the balcony of the Grand Ducal Palace, with Prince Félix and Princess Claire bringing out their two young children, Princess Amalia and Prince Liam, to celebrate the occasion.
