Charles and Camilla’s Visit to Northern Ireland, Day One
The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall embarked on a four-day visit to Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland on Monday.
Charles and Camilla began their visit in Bellaghy, where they stopped in at Seamus Heaney HomePlace for a tour of the museum celebrating the life and work of Seamus Heaney, a Nobel Prize winner in literature. They also watched a number of live performances of Heaney’s works.
Afterwards, it was on to the opening of the North West Cancer Centre at Altnagelvin Hospital. The Prince and the Duchess spent time brightening the day of patients and staff.
To conclude the day, the couple hosted a concert by Sean Rafferty at Hillsborough Castle for one hundred guests.
