Infanta Margarita Awarded the Royal National Academy of Medicine’s Gold Medal
In a ceremony at the Royal National Academy of Medicine in Madrid on Monday, the Duchess of Soria and Hernani was awarded the Gold Medal of the Academy by her brother, King Juan Carlos.
The 78-year-old Infanta was awarded the medal for her long-standing “attention, dedication and affection” for the Academy over the years.
Accompanying King Juan Carlos, who said to his sister that “Queen Sofia, I and the whole family are very proud of you, as our parents were in their day”, and Infanta Margarita to the ceremony were Queen Sofia, Infanta Pilar, the Duke of Soria and the couple’s two children, Alfonso and Maria Zurita y de Borbón.
