Felipe and Letizia Open New Exhibition at National Library of Spain
At the National Library of Spain on Thursday, King Felipe and Queen Letizia opened a new exhibition focusing on the historic manuscripts from the University of Salamanca. The university is celebrating the eight-hundred anniversary of receiving a Royal Charter next year.
The King and Queen were given a tour of the exhibition – entitled ‘Scripts. Handwritten Treasures of the University of Salamanca’ – which brings 23 manuscripts, some dating back to the 13th century, to Madrid for the first time.
Queen Letizia added an edge to a classic black and white outfit combination, with the addition of a black leather skirt. She and King Felipe are Honorary Presidents of the Interinstitutional Commission for the Commemoration of the VIII Centenary of the University of Salamanca.
