Flashback Friday: A Curtsey For The Queen
May 19, 1972: The Duchess of Windsor (1896-1986) curtseys to her niece, Queen Elizabeth II, as the monarch arrives to her home in Paris.
The Queen, accompanied by the Duke of Edinburgh and the Prince of Wales, was on a state visit to France. The family took time out of their official schedule on the final day of the state visit to see the Duke and Duchess, the Queen’s paternal uncle and aunt.
The Duke of Windsor (1894-1972), who was battling throat cancer at the time, died nine days later.
