The civil wedding ceremony of Hereditary Prince Ferdinand zu Leiningen and Viktoria Luise Prizessin von Preussen took place on the morning of Saturday April 29, at the refectory of the Leiningen family’s palace in Amorbach.

Following the ceremony presided over by the Mayor of Amorbach, Peter Schmitt, a small reception was held for guests in the Palace’s Green Hall.

Hereditary Prince Ferdinand is the elder son of Andreas, Prince of Leiningen and Princess Alexandra of Hanover; while Viktoria-Luise is the only daughter of Prince Friedrich Wilhelm of Prussia (d. 2015) and his second wife Ehrengard von Reden. Both are descendants of the British Queen Victoria – their marriage is the first between two descendants of Queen Victoria in over three decades (the groom’s parents were the last who fit that category).

The couple will marry religiously in September.
