A Chat At The Palace: William, Kate, Harry Discuss Heads Together Motivation
Kensington Palace this morning released a video of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry discussing their motivations behind starting the Heads Together campaign.
The royals came to the conclusion that a lot of their individual causes – bereavement, military, addiction – all had one common thread: mental health issues – “the one thing that binds everything together”.
During the video, Kate – who is implied to have had the initial idea for Heads Together in the discussion – speaks of the challenges she and William went through when their first child, Prince George, was born in July 2013, particularly when they went back to Anglesey, away from their families, shortly after the birth.
The two Princes spoke of their experiences in dealing with grief after the death of their mother, Diana, Princess of Wales; and how their close relationship was a huge support over the years.
The overall discussion again emphasised the importance of conversation: talking to someone about your emotions and mental health, and not bottling everything up inside.
