On Saturday April 8, Princess Beatrix was present at a symposium hosted by the Parkinson Association to mark their fortieth anniversary.
During the symposium – attended by 900 guests and held on World Parkinson’s Day – Princess Beatrix spoke with doctors and researchers who are working on new treatments for sufferers of the disease, as well as patients and their caregivers.
Parkinson’s Disease is an illness close to the Princess, as her late husband, Prince Claus, was diagnosed with the disease in 1991.
