Queen Silvia Purchases First Mayflower Pin of 2017
As patron of the Mayflower Charity Foundation, Queen Silvia of Sweden on Thursday purchased the first of the charity’s fundraising pins for 2017, as she has for many years.
This year the launch took place at the Maltesholm School in Hässelby. The Queen, wearing a lovely red suit that matched the 2017 pin, received her pin from this year’s designer, Miranda Nilsson, and Zacharias Arrach.
The Mayflower Charity Foundation works “to improve conditions for children and tackle child poverty in Sweden”. The first Mayflower pin was sold in 1907.
