Princess Marie Joins CBRNE Terrorism Response Exercise

As part of her role with the Danish Emergency Management Agency (DEMA), Princess Marie today visited Hillerød where a joint terrorism response exercise was taking place.

The Princess watched as local and national agencies ran through various exercises designed to “enhance their ability to coordinate and handle a major terrorist incident”. The focus was on chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosive attacks.

“It has given me insight into exactly how the local and state authorities cooperate if the unthinkable were to happen. I hope that everyone involved in the exercise has taken a constructive dividend out of it,” Marie said at the end of the day.

Princess Marie has been involved with the DEMA since 2011, when she first undertook a training session with them.
