Marthe Wéry Exhibition Receives A Royal Visitor
The Queen of the Belgians has today visited BPS22, the Hainaut Province Museum of Art, to view an exhibition of works created by artist Marthe Wéry.
Wearing a simple beige leather-look dress with dark brown beaded jewellery, Queen Mathilde toured the “Marthe Wéry: Works, Research and Documents in BPS22’s Collections”.
Mr Wéry, who died in 2005, was commissioned to create several pieces of art that hang in the Royal Palace in Brussels, as part of a project by Queen Paola to integrate contemporary art with those of the 19th century.
