Two-year-old Princess Gabriella of Monaco today joined her parents, Prince Albert II and Princess Charlène, at the seventh Saint Dévote Rugby Tournament, though the little one proved a little shy and kept her face hidden in her mother’s coat for much of her appearance.

Held at the Stade Louis II, the tournament is put together by the Monegasque Rugby Federation in support of the Fondation Princesse Charlène de Monaco. Fifteen teams of under 12s from 11 countries participated in the tournament in Monaco, with the Cape Town team defeating the team from Lausanne in the final match today.

Prince Albert and Princess Charlene congratulated the winning team, along with the Monaco team that won the Saint Dévote Challenge.

The tournament is put together to “highlight the values of rugby beyond its physical aspects”, to promote “generosity, sharing, solidarity and fair play”.
