Exhibition on Marianne Bernadotte’s Fashion Opens in Stockholm
At Millesgården in Stockholm on Thursday, Crown Princess Victoria officially opened an exhibition on the fashion of her great-aunt, Countess Marianne Bernadotte af Wisborg.
Chanel, Balmain, Dior – Marianne Bernadotte, A Style Icon highlights 56 outfits from French design houses the Countess wore mostly in the 1970s and 1980s. A book written by the 92-year-old Countess on her fashion and philanthropic efforts goes alongside the exhibition.
Princess Victoria – who wore an outfit in cream and black tones, as did the Countess – gave a brief speech at the opening, praising the craftsmanship of the garments which have allowed them to be “as beautiful today as when they were created”.
