Blooming in Blue: Queen Elizabeth Reopens Army Museum
Queen Elizabeth II was joined by the Duke of Edinburgh and the Duke of Kent for Thursday’s reopening of the recently refurbished National Army Museum in London.
After being welcomed with a kiss from her cousin, the Duke of Kent, who is patron of the National Army Museum, the royal party toured the Army Gallery, viewing the new exhibition of military uniforms over the years. One of the uniforms on show belongs actually belongs to Her Majesty – the uniform she wore as an Honorary Brigadier of the Women’s Royal Army Corps at the close of World War Two.
The Queen looked smart in a baby blue tweed coat with matching hat. As she and the two Royal Dukes left the Museum, the Queen was presented with a bouquet of flowers from the young daughters of army photographer Sergeant Rupert Frere.
