Prince Richard zu Sayn-Wittenstein-Berleburg Has Died, Aged 82
The Danish Royal Court has announced the sudden death of His Highness Richard, 6th Prince zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg overnight at his home in Bad Berleburg.
“It is with great sadness that I, on behalf of Her Royal Highness Princess Benedikte, have to announce that His Highness Prince Richard has died. His Highness died suddenly at the castle in Berleburg last night, Monday March 13,” the statement issued by the Princess’s private secretary, Tommy M Paulsen, read.
Princess Benedikte will travel back to Berleburg from Denmark this morning.
The Prince, aged 82, was the head of the House of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg. He is survived by his wife, their three children – Gustav, Alexandra and Nathalie, and four grandchildren (Richard, Ingrid, Konstantin and Louisa).
