Norwegian Heir Takes Part In Military Exercises
Crown Prince Haakon of Norway has taken part in the Norwegian Armed Forces exercise Joint Viking in Finnmark.
The exercise is being held to “practice crisis management and the defence of Norway”, and to improve the information flow within the military branches. Prince Haakon accompanied Admiral Haakon Bruun-Hanssen, the Chief of Norwegian Defence, to meet soldiers taking part and learning about their tasks during the exercise.
8,000 Norwegian military personnel are taking part in Joint Viking, which is running from March 6 to 15. 750 troops from the US and UK military are also taking part.
