Princess Eugenie Visits Domestic Violence Shelter In New York
On Thursday, Princess Eugenie of York spent time visiting a shelter for victims of domestic violence run by the organisation Safe Horizon in New York. The organisation is the largest in the US that assists victims of domestic violence.
The Princess was joined for a tour of the shelter by the British Consul General in New York, Antonia Romeo. They listened to the stories of family violence and human trafficking victims, as well as playing with the young children staying in the shelter.
Before she left, Eugenie had her left ring finger painted with purple nail polish, which is part of Safe Horizon’s ‘#PutTheNailInIt’ campaign to “help spread awareness of domestic violence”.
